NaNoLog: Day 1

NaNoWriMo has officially begun! Okay, so I started later than I thought I was going to, but that was only because I was too tired to stay up until midnight, and then I had the hardest time finding a comfy writing spot this morning. Anyway, I'm four hundred words in (not much, I know) and I'm liking it so far. I had the hardest time starting... I wrote one sentence and then I couldn't think of anything to write after it. Finally I just deleted that and started slightly earlier in the story, and now it's working.
I've changed two of my main characters' names already, and the world is slighty different than what I pictured it as being, but it's good so far. I really think I might be able to pull this off. Or at least get a good chunk of stuff written. I don't think I've ever even tried to write 50,000 words before, so we'll see how it goes. Also, this is my first big original story in years. I've written fanfic for so long, and most of that never even gets posted, so I'm excited about actually having the motivation to keep writing something and then possibly posting it. More updates later, gotta go write some more now!

I'm glad to hear that you're writing. As long as you have the passion and the will to write (and time, of course) I'm sure you'll do fine and come somewhat close to fifty thousand.

Hope so. I'm a little over 650 words in now, not much more than this morning, but I'm getting a better feel for who my characters are, so hopefully my writing'll take off and I'll be writing at super-speed once I know who my characters are. ^_^

hi darling :) i've added you. I'm at about 4,000 words, but i keep taking breaks, which is bad since i wanted to do 8,000 today. maybe i'll reconsider that goal and go for 5,000. ;)

It is exciting. Once I get past the scary writer's block. (Which seems to keep happening every 20 minutes or so...) So far I'm only at about 650. But I'm not letting that stop me! I'll definitely be writing more tonight.
Oh, and I'm in Centreville.
