Post-NaNo Exhaustion and Aimlessness
Dec. 1st, 2008 04:31 pmIt's over, and now I don't know what to do. November was such a crazy month, both exhilarating and exhausting, and now I feel a little lost...
I just went through and took out the bits and pieces that didn't have anything to do with my NaNo novel -- including my original story idea, a few bits of school writing from me that I attributed to my characters instead, and the blog-like interruptions from me -- and my word count came out to a little over 30,000. Which is still a decent amount of stuff to go from. So I still have a bit of work to do to make it actually work as a novel, but the framework is there to work off of.
I'm trying to decide what to do with that CreateSpace proof copy offer, too. Part of me wants to just use that and get my entire NaNo, rants and all, bound and printed for my own record, so that I've got a lovely hard copy of everything that I've written this month. Another part of me wants to just print my whole novel out on my own printer, take some time to edit the story up and make it complete, and then use the CreateSpace offer so that I've got a copy of my book that's actually readable. Any ideas?
