How is it possible for a fic to be both heartbreaking and incredibly sweet at the very same time?
Congrats on finishing a fic for August just under the wire. It's such a good one. I love this little alternate reality you've created for them, where Jess is alive and Sam will still drop everything for his brother (even when he's sick). I love all the little hints that things aren't quite right; it was beautiful to get suckered in, not sure what was going on, and then realize there had been no pool hustling. And the idea of Dean trying to gank a bear, totally convinced it was a skinwalker. Or Sam not used to even saying Bobby's name because he's not part of their world in the same way. "What if their normal hunting life as I know it is all in Dean's head?" Brilliant, just brilliant.
Loved so many little moments. The congestion/sinus pressure shifting every time Dean makes a sharp turn. Sam letting Dean get them a room. Sam turning his head and sneezing into blankets. Dean friggin apologizing for being crazy. The wording of that phone call. Sam knowing he should get up and deal with his brother but feeling so damn stuffed and crappy that he can't. And that ending... that they have a home. And Dean trying so hard to apologize but still not quite all there. And Sam still willing to drop everything for Dean. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
