So, I've got a question for all my friends out there. Anybody a Warren Zevon fan, and if you are, can you recommend an album for me to buy? Because right now I'm absolutely hooked on "Werewolves of London" and I need more music. Thanks. ^_^

And in exchange for the question, I'm giving a music recommendation myself. If you like swing/jazz/pop/folk or all of the above, I highly recommend Erin McKeown. I just discovered her music last week, and it's so very catchy. Have a listen and see if you agree.

It's so funny, I'll go days without seeing a Corvette, and then I see three within an hour or so. This has happened to me several times. Oh, god, I want a Corvette so badly...

In other news, I went to see two of my favorite bands last night: Girlyman and We're About 9. Excellent as always, and I bought a We're About 9 CD and got it signed by Brian and Katie, and bought a Girlyman poster and got it signed by Doris, Nate, and Ty. It was fantastic. And Ty is completely adorable. <3
I only wish I could be more coherent when I'm meeting people like that. I come up and instead of asking some intelligent question or saying something witty, I'm just like, "Hi... I love you guys... You're amazing... Thank you so much!" Gotta work on that. Still, I was grinning like an idiot for the rest of the night.
If you like pop-folk, I highly recommend checking them out.

Okay, I'm getting addicted to this image-manipping, wallpaper-making thing. But it's just so fun, I can't stop! ^_^ So I've got three new wallpapers: one of Hadrian, one for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and one of Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious. They're all lurking behind the lj cuts... Sorry if they're kinda big. I'm not sure I know how to make thumbnails...

Neither can live while the other survives... )

Young Punks. )

And that's that. Cowabunga, dude.

So I've been watching this Sex Pistols documentary, and can you imagine what would've happened if everything went right? If they'd lasted longer, if Glen hadn't left, if Malcolm hadn't been the manager, all that stuff. Imagine if they had... I dunno, 7 or 8 albums out. Imagine if Sid Vicious was still alive. Or was it all just doomed from the start? Anyway, I'm bored, so I'm just sitting here... wondering...

So I was at an arts and crafts festival today, and I bought... a didjeridoo! It took me awhile to get the right sound, but the guy selling them let me try a lot of different ones to see which I liked best. I love it so far, hopefully I'll get to use it in one of my band's songs sometime. Should be interesting.

And, like all my instruments, I had to give it a name. So my didjeridoo is now called Adaluma, which according to this website means "river" in some Aboriginal language. I named it that because it has this curvy design down it that looks a bit like a river.

Anyway, that was the highlight of my day, and after having a nice restaurant dinner and some fabulous cheesecake, I'm very happy...

So my friend and I were watching Nirvana music videos the other day, and I was noticing the resemblance between Kurt Cobain and Ewan McGregor. They should make a Nirvana movie before EM gets too old, and he can play Kurt! I wonder if there's anyone I can write to about that, because I think it would be fantastic...

I just discovered Green Day's Jesus of Suburbia music video yesterday. And I've been obsessively watching it ever since. And I wanna write a fic about it.

Oh, speaking of fic, I've accepted the fact that I've failed miserably at NaNoWriMo. I only got about 4,500 words written all month. However! I'm still happy about it, because it's 4,500 words that I wouldn't have written otherwise, and I do plan to continue the fic. I'm just not gonna finish it this month, obviously. This was also my first time doing NaNo, so I figure next year I'll have more time to think of a fic and a plotline before I wildly sign up three days before it starts and have to frantically think of a plot to write.

I've also started obsessing over the Dream of Doll website again, and I want DOT Ducan. But again, don't have the $700 or whatever to spend on a doll... But he's so pretty... And cheaper than Tony, who was like $1000 or more.

Or, I just found DOC Kirill, and while he's smaller than Ducan (and I'd kinda prefer the bigger doll), he's cheaper -- only $398 with clothes! (He's the one on the right.)
More pictures. )

And one final note, because this is pretty cool, I found out about American Edit yesterday. It's a mashup of the American Idiot album and a bunch of other songs, and it's pretty cool.
